Skirted Jigs. The term means "jig with a skirt", which may sound a bit strange at first, but looks impressive in the water. The jig head appears to wear a "skirt" made of rubber fringes that are about the length of the hook. These fringes create a seductive movement in the water and are often combined in different colors to make the skirt more eye-catching.
There are jigs with a fixed hook and models with an interchangeable hook that is attached via a snap ring. This allows you to quickly change the hook if it becomes blunt or you need a different size. The snap ring also gives the trailer more freedom of movement. Fixed hook models are often equipped with a weed guard that makes it easier to guide the hook through dense cover without snagging.
