The Shimano Sahara FJ spinning reel series offers modern design and many of Shimano's best technologies. It is versatile, both in freshwater and onshore. This mid-priced reel offers solid performance and is suitable for many fishing techniques.
Design of the Sahara
You can see straight away that the Sahara keeps the Shimano promise. The black body with gold details looks good and the reel runs smoothly and without annoying noises. The brake reacts quickly. You can also fight fish when they are tired by deactivating the anti-reverse and cranking backwards. The Sahara takes the mid-range segment of stationary reels to a new level.
Technology in the New Sahara
The first things you notice when fishing are the smooth running, quiet operation and strong crank. These features are particularly evident when catching big fish. They come from the combination of HAGANE gear, X-Ship and Silent Drive, which can also be found in more expensive models.
Another advantage is the G-Free Body, which ensures great balance, even with light spinning rods. With the largest model (5000) you get even more power and better casting performance thanks to the AR-C spool with Varispeed II.
The 500 or 1000 models are ideal for fine fishing. The 2000, 2500 and 3000 are perfect for light and medium spin fishing or float fishing. The 4000 is good for heavy spin fishing, but also for medium feeder fishing. The 5000 is the strongest model in the Sahara series. The choice is yours!
